Years of training in a wide range of skills has given Emma an all round knoweldge and understanding of the arts. Emma spent her early years training in a variety of different dance disciplines including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Greek and Jazz. Firstly studying at the Elmhurst Dance School and then continuing her studies under Teresita Marsden. From the age of 5 she was entering dance festivals and compeitions and training five days a week. At the same time she began developing her music skills studying Piano, Flute and Music Theory from an early age. She later added Organ, Harpsichord and Singing to her repetoire gaining a Music Scholarship to Charterhouse in 1994. She studied Organ under the direction of renowned organist Robin Wells. Whilst here Emma both sang and played at Windsor Castle, St Martins In The Fields and St James Piccadilly. Whilst at Charterhouse her love of theatre was nurtured and she directed, acted and stage managed a number of productions including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, La Ronde, Oh What A Lovely War and Accidental Death of An Anarchist. She also wrote and directed her first production,Death In Abundance.
After completing her A levels she took a gap year teaching Acting and Music in varying local schools and also gained the part of Cecily in The Importance Of Bing Ernest. This was performed in Mayen, Germany as part of the annual Mayen Arts Festival. During this year Emma also gained her LAMDA Gold medals with Honours in Speaking of Verse and Prose, Acting and Mime. She also directed Don't Dress For Dinner by Marc Camoletti which was performed at the Ben Travers Theatre.
Between 1997-2000 Emma completed a BA (Hons) degree in Drama and Music and during this time gained a variety of different skills. She gained experience and knowledge of acting, directing, production, lighting and sound design, set and costume design, commerical theatre, physical theatre and performance skills. She also studied playwrighting under the playwright Dan Rebellato. She became a presenter for the unviersity radio statio, Insanity for 2 years hosting the early morning Breakfast Show. She also was a member of varying theatre companies and gained many leading roles including Tourvel in Les Liaison Dangereuse, Christine in Dancing At Lughnasa, Hilary in Masterpieces and Hodel in Fiddler On The Roof. She also taught Acting at the Wilding Stage Academy and was a Music Accompanist at Sunningdale Boys School.
After graduating Emma has had a variety of different successes in a number of fields. She has been teaching Acting and Drama since graduating at a school as well as being involved with a number of youth theatre projects. She prepares students for LAMDA examinations, Drama Scholarships and Drama School Entry. Recently students have gained top scholarships to Priors Field School, Box Hill School and gained places at Webber Douglas and Central School of Speech and Drama.
She has continued her training and passed both her Foundation Level and Level I Stage Combat exams under the tuition of Andy Ashenden at the Conservatoire for Acting and Musical Theatre in Guildford. She has also studied voice at the Voice Centre in London under the guidance of Leonora Keogh and has undertaken a variety of courses including Physical Theatre with Polly Teale at Shared Experience, Voice at LAMDA, A Voice Masterclass with Patsy Rodenberg, and Voice and Communciation with Stuart Pearce.
Emma also runs her own theatre company based in Guildford and has directed a number of shows for them including My Heart's A Suitcase, It Started With A Kiss, Cagebirdsand Look Back In Anger.
She has also been involved with a number of TV/Film projects including appearing with the Oxford Stage Company in their touring production of After The Dance, particiapting in a Stage Combat workshop for The Globe Theatre. In 2004 she was featured in the film Screaming Blue Murder, directed by Colin Bishop (Chandelier productions) and also played the role of Sandra in Murder In Paris diected by Michael Klesic for SummerDream Entertainment. TV Appearances also include Sporty Facts for Anglia TV and Eastenders for BBC, Sugar Rush for CH 4 and a commerical for O2. Recent theatre roles have included Helena in Midsummer Nights Dream and Bunny in the Amateur Premiere of Saucy Jack and The Space Vixens.
